What to Do with Chain Link Fences

Chain Link Fences

Chain link fences are incredibly popular thanks to their affordable cost and durability, but they can be difficult to style and make your own.

Chain link fences are incredibly popular thanks to their affordable cost and durability, but they can be difficult to style and make your own. If you are creative or just looking to make your chain link fence look like something other than a chain link fence, here are some of our best tips to get the job done.

A Bold and Graphic Design for Fun

Looking to give your chain link fence a cool pop of color or design for a party or event at your home? Use plastic cups! Simple colored cups are the easiest way to create exciting and unique patterns on your fence. Need something for your kids to do while you are cleaning up the house for guests? Decorating your chain link fence with cups is the perfect project.

Use Flowering Vines

Flowering vines are beautiful and a very simple and inexpensive way to decorate your chain link fence from top to bottom. It will take a good deal of time for the flowering vines to grow to cover your whole fence, but it’s easy to get started and exciting to watch it grow. If you want a lot of coverage in a short amount of time, try to get a fast-growing vine like jasmine or cross vine. As a bonus, flowering vines can transform your normal chain link fence into a privacy fence as they grow, giving you more privacy without the investment in a wooden privacy fence.

Cover It with Awnings

If you don’t particularly like the way that your chain link fence looks but love the way that it functions, try experimenting with awnings. Awnings can be used by cutting them to fit the length of your chain link fencing and tying them or attaching them along the length as you go. This is another easy way to turn your chain link fence into a privacy fence without any additional significant investment. Awnings are also great way to add some color and interest to your fence without painting the entire length. Turning your chain link fence back to its original state is as easy as taking the awning off.
